Armor was invented first and foremost to protect its wearer from damage. Over time the craftsmanship of armor evolved to the point where form was just as important as function. This collection began as a study into the structure and assembly of different types of armor. In the age of the samurai, a wide variety of different shapes of armor were used and each had a unique way of being put together and attached to the human body. These features were studied and used to inspire the designs in Akumu.
